Our Mission:

The Unit is committed to providing a comprehensive statewide air rescue response capability, catering to the state's critical occurrences and emergency situations. Our team is comprised of highly experienced volunteers, including Pilots, Police Officers, Firefighters, Tactical Flight Officers, Maintenance Techs, and EMS Personnel. They proudly deliver necessary air support with military and civilian training expertise. Under the New Milford Police Department's Safety Management System, we ensure compliance with all required regulatory aviation and safety standards.

The Unit maintains operational excellence as an on-call, mission-ready task force unit committed to serving the community selflessly. The New Milford Police Department Aviation Unit Commander oversees incident command and control. All our dedicated members, who staff our operations 24/7, 365 days a year, are volunteers. Our capabilities include day and evening operations due to night vision goggle technology. We proudly offer our services to all state and local agencies or personnel at no charge, providing cost-effectiveness and access to outstanding resources through The Unit’s exceptional capabilities.
